The crossover step is a moderately difficult agility ladder drill. With the crossover step, you can expect to enhance your ability to accelerate, decelerate, and quickly change direction while maintaining balance. While performing the drill, try to stay on your toes at all times.

Instructions for the crossover step agility ladder drill are listed below:

Stand to the right side of the agility ladder. Movement 1: With your right foot, cross over your left foot and step into the first square. Movement 2: With your left foot, cross over your right and step to the outside of the agility ladder. Repeat the footwork down the ladder in alternating fashion. If done correctly, your lead foot (right side in this example) should enter every other square. Be sure to perform the drill on the left side of the ladder.
