The burpee is a calisthenic exercise used to achieve muscular endurance. When performed with speed, this exercise can also be used to develop total body power and quickness. The burpee is a bodyweight exercise that requires no special equipment.

Begin in a standing position. Squat down and touch your hands to the floor. Kick your legs backward so that they are fully extended. As your legs move to extension, perform a push-up. As you push up, bring your knees to your chest. Finally, jump into the air as high as possible. As you jump reach up with your hands. Perform the exercise quickly.
